2017 Philafieldhockey.com-Zag Preseason Bermuda Tour
Philafieldhockey.com and Zag Sports have partnered to create a once in a lifetime international sports tour for young developing hockey players who are looking to maximize their potential as players, people and leaders. This is an opportunity to learn from some of the best coaches in the sport, develop and identify leadership strengths, engage in meaningful service opportunities while enjoying the beauty of Bermuda. We understand that not all clubs and high school teams travel overseas, however we want to create an experience for those individual players looking to experience more than just the typical camp or showcase. This is your chance….come with a teammate or come alone. We will make sure you have an unforgettable experience and come back ready to lead your team in the 2017 season. Spots are limited so please contact us if you or someone on your team could benefit from this experience. This is only open to HS players (9th-12th grade).

Master Clinician Pablo Lombi: Coach Lombi has been instrumental in building Argentina into a World Power over last 20 years. Most recently that time has been spent leading the Argentine Men to a gold medal finish at the Pan American Games and on to the London Olympics. Over the last 15 years Argentina has won more World Championhips than any other nation while producing some of the World' best players. This includes the single greatest player in the history of field hockey, 7 time player of the year, Luciana Aymar.

Melisa Meccage
Melisa Meccage will be your coach alongside expert clinician Pablo Lombi. Melisa studied and played at the University of Iowa for four years before traveling overseas to continue her hockey development in Argentina and Belgium. After 3 years of playing on the Junior and Senior National Team she found her passion in coaching. She coached at the University of Virginia, the University of Iowa and for the last 13 years coached at Princeton University where they won a National Chamionship in 2012 and had the privilege to coach and mentor many national team players and 3 Olympians. She has taken over as president and hockey tour designer for a company she cofounded with her husband, Zag Sports, a sports tour company that takes teams all over the world to engage in life-changing experiences through their sport. Melisa also is the director and founder of LeadHerSports.com, a hockey academy for elementary age kids that focuses on teaching life lessons through the game of hockey. Melisa has four children (all who play hockey) - Bryce (10), Clara and Cayden (7) and Miah (3).
Phil Spiniello is owner and founder of Spiniello Solutions, a North Carolina based consulting company built around a professional approach to self-awareness, individual growth and team culture, through the utilization of DISC Behavioral Assessments and communication centered teaching. Phil’s company was created on the foundation of 5 Core Values: 1. Create a positive and encouraging environment, 2. Have a professional approach and personal attention to all students, 3. Prioritize the importance of self-awareness and effective communication, 4. Passionate pursuit of personal growth and continued development and 5. Empower students to define and pursue excellence in leadership.
The mission of Spiniello Solutions is to empower individuals, teams and companies to succeed through the development of communication and leadership skills. Spiniello has a strong platform to effectively optimize the potential of every athlete he works through his extensive years of coaching Division I women’s swimming. Phil is a 13-year veteran coaching at Arizona State University, Princeton University, Rutgers University and most recently at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. During his coaching career he was also named 2014 American Athletic Conferences Swimming Coach of the Year. Phil is going to provide you with the tools to help you maximize your potential!
Philafieldhockey.com is dedicated to promoting field hockey in the Philadelphia area as well as providing field hockey opportunities for all players to develop as athletes and as strong women. Founder and Editor, Kathleen Harte Simone is thrilled to be partnering with ZAG Sports, the industry leader, to offer this Pre-Season Bermuda Tour. High School players will build on their game with outstanding coaching, improve leadership skills, and serve others. Players will return home with heightened skills and an enhanced understanding of game strategy, as well as with newfound friends and lifetime memories!
Philafieldhockey.com promotes college, high school, middle school, club and youth field hockey in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs as well as college players hailing from the area. In the fall, we post college and high school daily score reports as well as weekly Top-10 Stat Leaders and Players of the Week in 6 categories. This fall, we added the popular High School Game of the Week, selected by online voters, and weekly middle school coverage. All year, we post College Commitment stories, feature articles on field hockey movers and shakers as well as comprehensive directories of tournaments, clinics, camps and leagues, among other resources. Philafieldhockey.com is actively engaged on social media posting daily on twitter, facebook and instagram @PhilaFH. We also sponsor field hockey events in the area to show support of our players and programs.
Simone is a field hockey fanatic who has been a part of the sport in every role: a Division I player, high school and youth coach, club field hockey booster mom, parent of two DI athletes, an athletic director who oversaw coaches, and now publisher of Philafieldhockey.com. Simone is also a seasoned marketing professional with an extensive background in publishing, graphic design and professional writing including penning USA Field Hockey's FH LIFE magazine's "From the Sidelines" column.
